Default Dragon Naturally Speaking Question
Hi,

One of my clients has asked me to do a short transcription project. I'm considering purchasing Dragon Naturally speaking but am curious if it will work with Audio Acrobat. Does anybody have experience using pre-recorded audio and Dragon Naturally speaking together?

TIA, KIm

Bumping - does anybody know the answer to this? I want to purchase the software today so it is here for when I start the project next week. I've tried calling Nuance support but their hold time is sooo long. TIA.

Hello,

A quick Google search and I came upon this review of Dragon Naturally. One of the posters indicated, "All commands do not work in Adobe Acrobat. Inserting in existing text can be irritating..especially combining keyboard with DNS."

Here is the link to the review on Cnet http://reviews.cnet.com/voice-recogn...-33227360.html

If no one here has the answer for you, try to keyword Dragon Naturally and Adobe Acrobat and see what you can find.

I've never used Dragon Naturally. My personal preference for transcription software is Philips SpeechExec Transcribe. I know that Express Scribe is the most widely used, but I've found that background noise, static, etc., are for whatever reason, drowned out in the Philips software. I used Express Scribe for a very long time. When it was time to update my foot pedal, I purchased a Philips, which allowed me to download their transcription program. It doesn't support all formats and you may need to convert WAV files into MP3s. But I believe Philips is constantly updating, so it's a matter of keeping up to date with what's out there. I love SpeechExec Transcribe, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Check it out:

I don't feel that Dragon or any voice-to-text type software would do well with recorded voices, maybe if it was very clear and only one person speaking.
