Audacity6 - New user needing urgent help

I've recently downloaded Audacity for digital transcription and received my first job request before having time to review and learn the software.

Can anyone help give me a very quick tutortial on how to playback the digital file? I can open the file, but am having trouble getting it to play at a speed that I can understand.

Sharon, have you tried Express Scribe (http://www.nch.com.au/scribe/) since you are in a pinch for time? I use that and it is very easy to get up and running with.

I've got Audacity, too, but haven't tried it out yet.

Sorry I'm not much help and only popping in with a suggestion.

You're very welcome, Sharon! So glad that worked for you.

Before using Express Scribe, I would advise changing the F2 hotkey. By default it changes the playback speed to 50%, which can be annoying if you also use it to rename files.

I have a food pedal, so this isn't an issue for me.
