Default Virtual Assistant Niches
Niche. Some say “nitch” and some say “neech”. No matter how you pronounce it, the meaning is the same: : a place, employment, status, or activity for which a person or thing is best fitted. So, in relation to your business.. a niche is an area in which you are best fitted and more often than not, it is an area you are also passionate about. In today’s episode Craig Cannings of VA Classroom and I talk about Virtual Assistant niches, including Internet Marketing, Social Media, Virtual Event Specialist and even Copy writing. Craig provides some great insight on some of things a Virtual Assistant might want to consider when determining a niche for their business.

This is really helpful. Finding what you love to do is important to be successful. I feel like I can do marketing, events, travel, admin related so would it be worth advertising all or should I just pick one?

Hi Vanessa,

To briefly highlight what Craig said to look for when you are deciding on your niche:

Ask yourself "What hits your hot buttons, what do you enjoy doing?" and "What are you wired for?"

Out of the items you listed, is there one or two that resonates with you the most? If so, you can choose to highlight those in your list of services.

Sometimes we want to be everything to everyone and after some time in business, we find certain things interest us more than others. That's is when we change our services and really start to niche ourselves. There isn't anything really wrong with that, but if you can really pinpoint the things you love to do, excel in and there is a market for in the beginning it will help you tremendously -- go with that.

This was a really useful podcast.
I have settled with my niche and after listening to this I also decided to add a 2 more things on my list.
I agree that your niche should be what you love to do.
