Default Original signatures on docs
I am a virtual paralegal. Most of my work is for attorneys. Pleadings and collections work requires an original signature of the attorney. I prepare the work but then am facing some obstacles on how to send the work to the attorney for his signature and then get it back to me to send out. This would require two fedex' which would not make his life any easier. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Cindy, will they accept a certified digital signature? I use a digital signature when working with one of my attorney clients for many of their documents. As a disclaimer, I'm not doing pleadings and court docs so I'm not sure what the rules are regarding digital signatures there.

No digital signatures accepted here in NJ. And on collections work, it must be original signature due to the fair credit reporting act.

Do any of the courts require or accept e-filing? Here is Texas, at least in Houston, a number of the courts mandate e-filing as they are going paperless. Attorney signatures are required, but the documents are scanned with the attorney signature. If the attorney has a scanner or fax, that would solve part of your problem.
