Question Whats the best QB hosting provider?
Hi Divas...

So I have this potential client thats been doing his bookeeping, but is ready to turn it over to someone else because he travels all the time on business and by the time he has time to sit down and do all his record keeping...he's pretty tired.

I'm ready to make a presentation on how virtual bookkeeping can work for him, but I'm questioning if I should suggest remote access or a QB hosting provider. I checked out Swizznet, and they seem pretty descent, but...

-Does anyone of you divas use a QB hosting provider thats really good and aren't overly priced?
-Can anyone recommed a good remote hosting provider?

Thank you much,
Amaya's mom, Anastacia

I haven't used a hosting service, but I use the free version of logmein for remote access.

Currently I use a private provider. In the past I used Real Time Data Services (myrealdata.com) and didn't have any problems. I sat through a presentation by Swizznet last week and was very impressed with them; if I were looking for a new host I'd check them out.

Unless your client has a dedicated computer or an in-house server which would allow you to access their QB files at any time I can't imagine using a remote access point to go on their computer to access the files. I think I've just been spoiled.

IF they have quickbooks set up on there computer you could use a service like gotomypc or pcanywhere to access it or you could use quickbooks online.

Hi Lanel...do you mind telling me the name of the provider you use now? I've done some bookkeeping, but not on this level. I wanted to have something to compare to Swizznet in order to present to my client.

I've never used a QB hosting provider before, so i'm just trying to make an informed decision.

Also, anyone with some QB hosting provider experience, I appreciate ANY imput.

Thanks a mil,
Anastacia Prince

My current server is a bookkeeping colleagues business server in her office that I rent space on -- it's not something I can show you, sorry.

Swizznet offers a 30-day free trial. That might be something to try to test it out.

Are you wanting some specific information to share with your client on why they should go with a remote hosting provider? Let me know if there's something specific you're looking for or if I'm not answering your question.

No, you have answered my question. I guess what I was trying to obtain was the name of a provider that someone uses that they think is good. I prefer to use a provider that someone has referred than a provider that no one I know has used.

I guess that is what I was trying to get at. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Thanks Lanel.
