Congratulations on getting your site launched, Tomekia.

A couple of thoughts:

* do you really not have a client agreement (contract)? You really should - it protects both you and your client and serves to set expectations (never assume that anything is understood if not specifically stated).

* I believe that your administrative services and start-up assistance rates are VERY low. It simply isn't possible to be profitable at that rate. Your services are worth more than that and you need to price them accordingly.

* I would suggest adding an "About" page. People do business with people they "know, like & trust" - if they don't get a sense of who you are and what you are about, they are less likely to contact you.

Warmly,

Lorri

Hi Lorri,

Thanks for the feedback.

I believe I may be wording this wrong because what I mean by no contracts is no long term commitment to continue with my services. I definitely plan to get a signed agreement on my policies. Any suggestions on how I should word this differently?

I agree that the start-up assistance rates are low. I am definitely changing that now.

I am concerned however about the admin rates. I am here in Louisiana and administrative assistants gets paid more like $10-$12 per hour, often as little as $8. So, I guess it's my lack of confidence in competing against that. I have actually seen reposts of job adds from business owners asking not to be contacted by people offering services for $20+ dollars (my original rate) because they can hire someone part time for way less than that.

I definitely think I am worth it, though. How can I pitch myself at my preferred rate?

Also, my husband agrees with you on the "About" page. I'll be working on it this weekend.

Thank you again for all the great feedback.

Tomekia:

Regarding your rates, keep in mind that you are a GLOBAL company, not just local to your area. Also, there are many expenses an employer incurs when hiring an employee - even a temp - rather than subcontracting with you. There is a whole lot of information out there on this subject; certainly even on this forum. You can read for days...

Keep these words in mind...you are a business OWNER, not an EMPLOYEE. Don't undervalue yourself!

Just my two cents,

--Jennifer

Thanks, Jennifer. You slapped me straight with that one! LOL

My husband says I should get a plaque with those words on it.
"I am a business OWNER, not an EMPLOYEE, I will not undervalue myself!

Kind of reminds me of that Proverbs 31 scripture about the virtuous woman
~She perceiveth that her merchandise is good
