Default Tax Preparation Charge?
Hello,

I have a client who wants be to take care of his gross receipts taxes (NM) twice a year and he wants me to file his income taxes. He is a single member LLC. I am not an accountant but I do his bookkeeping. I don't know how much I should charge to file the gross receipts taxes and the income taxes. What do you all think would be a good price to charge him?

Thanks!!

Jeanette

Default Re: Tax Preparation Charge?
Jeanette,

If you are not trained in income taxes then, honestly, you shouldn't be preparing them for a client. I work closely with a couple CPA's and EA's and refer my clients to them for tax preparations. I have had years of schooling in tax preparation but have not kept up on the laws so I don't feel prepared to do this service for my clients.

Beyond that, we really can't tell you what to charge a client.
