Good catch on the sale price! You will not only learn how QB works, but it's a great opportunity to set up your books properly

Well I was pretty excited to take this course but alas, it is no good for Canucks! I even had my QB Pro 2007 bought *sigh*. To take training in Canada for this course it is $299+ for a one day seminar. Just not the same as FREE. For those of you who have yet to buy your QB program be advised that the 2007 version is not completely compatible with Vista according to their website info. You lucky US citizens

Tammy, are you saying that taking advantage of the free training requires a U.S. address??

P.S. I'm on Vista too now and it's completely unstable (ack!) thank goodness for frequent patches and updates!

Thank you for the idea!!!!

I've signed up for the program and have actually started it. Used the individual module exams 1st to figure out where I might have some problem area. I did fairly well, but did learn that there were some areas I was lacking in. So I am going through all the modules now.

Tess,

You do have to have a U.S. address to sign up but as well for us Canadians, the QB is a totally different program from the US version (according to the info that QB agents give out) so the training wouldn't be applicable to the version we can buy up here. I am sure that there are similarities in page structures but the US agent I spoke to the on the phone wasn't positive. As for the stability of Vista...well that is another issue altogether The QB Pro 2008 was made with the Vista OS in mind so it might be a better bet for you as I don't believe they have any patches for the QB Pro 2007 version (not that I saw anyway).

Thanks for the info Tammy - I initially found that so odd...usually they just do a 'North America' version and leave it at that although with the different currencies etc. I guess it makes perfect sense.

As to Vista - QB or not I'm slowly finding some workarounds for the um, issues, Vista presents but yes...another issue altogether as you said!

Thanks so much Rebecka, I just signed up. I'm a QB user for over 5 years and use it everyday for my businesses and at work. I also offer bookkeeping services through my business, this will definitely increase my credibility when obtaining new clients.

Way to go!

Ingrid

Just got this email from Quickbooks... FYI!!

To QuickBooks User Certification Beta Program Registrants:

Our records indicate that you registered to participate in the QuickBooks User Certification Beta Program, but have not completed the certification exam. Please note that the Beta program is concluding on December 16, 2007.

We are extremely thankful to everyone who registered for this program; your participation has helped us immensely in the development of a top-notch online training program.

We are excited to announce our new certification program, which will launch on December 17, 2007. The new program will be based on QuickBooks 2008, and will provide training on the latest QuickBooks features. The new program will require purchase, so if you need to complete the training or certification test on the Beta program, please do so before midnight, Dec. 16, 2007.

Again, thank you for your participation. We hope you have found this program useful in increasing your knowledge of QuickBooks and communicating your expertise to others.
