Free Microsoft Office Accounting 2007

Offer Description:
Microsoft is offering Office Accounting 2007 free. You can either download the 200 megabyte file or order a free CD-ROM. This is a single user accounting package intended for small businesses. It has integration of eBay and PayPal features.

How to get the free software:
Visit the Microsoft Idea Wins site and either click on the download link or click to order the CD.

Offer Availability:
The free accounting software is free to those in the US and requires Windows XP or Server 2003. It integrates with Microsoft Office, but I did confirm that it will install without MS Office installed. I can't vouch for how functional it is without Office.

I use it and it works well. It runs a little slower than I prefer but it does everything I need it to do.

What is the difference between the simple start and QB Pro?? Will this work well enough with a virtual assistant business? I think I read that it was for clients or less.

It is a simpler version of QB Pro and doesn't have all the same features. It also limits the number of customers and vendors you can have. It has the basics though. They do have an upgrade to Simple Start that is cheaper than QuickBooks Pro.

This link will give you a side-by-side comparison of Simple Start Free, Simple Start and QuickBooks Pro. You can always start out with the free version and upgrade to one of the others later if you need more functionality.
