For the past several months I have used PayPal's invoicing. (Not been doing this for years and years.) Admittedly, I opted for this because of its ease of receiving payment and its ease of use. I am not a bookkeeping whiz nor am I an accountant. So PayPal has made invoicing and receiving payments so easy. And maybe I've been lucky. I send out my invoice, and boom, the next day I receive a message that I have received payment!

(I'm assuming this may not always be the case.)

What I just don't like is that I can't customize what my invoice looks like. Is that egotistic? I suppose the main purpose of sending out an invoice is to receive payment -- not a time to demonstrate creative skills . . . BUT I WANT TO DO THAT!

Have I gotten carried away with my invoices? Don't answer that. I get carried away with everything!

Does anyone else use PayPal for invoicing, and if so, do you know of any secrets to customize your invoice?

there is a way but I found it impossible to get it to work.... I then signed up with Freshbooks - it allows clients to make payment via PayPal if you select that option and is really easy to customise the whole thing - invoices and also the login page.

I get carried away with things too...!! lol

Thank you, Bridie! I just checked out Freshbooks, and it does look awesome. I still fit into their free account for all of my 3 clients! Just goes to show you, there's always a bright side to everything

I may only have three clients, but I get to use Freshbooks for free!

Thanks for the idea on Freshbooks. I signed up.

I have used Quickbooks before -- now that I have a new laptop, I still haven't reinstalled it. I used to use Quickbooks very minimally for use in my nursery business. I do need to say that the little I have played around with Freshbooks today, I like the whole feel of it and their "look" as I navigate around. I like it!
