Default Accounting Software
Does anyone here use workingpoint.com? I just found it this weekend and it looks pretty good. With the free version you can invoice up to 5 clients but their premium is only $10 per month. They seem to be integrating with your banking at the premium level but I'm wondering if I am going to have to pay if I would not just be better with Quickbooks....

Hi,
Actually I don't know working point but I can tell you that you have the accounting software tiolive which is free and without any limits regarding clients or operations tracked. The only limit you can meet is about storage but after one year and a half using it, I still don't have reached it. I know they are Quickbooks' competitors. You should try before taking your decision.

Never heard of it but will check it out. Quickbooks seems to be what most people use but never hurts to try and see what they offer.

I hadn't heard of this either. I'm currently using Freshbooks (which I love) for invoicing and Quickbooks for the actual bookkeeping/accounting stuff (when I make myself do it!), though it has a lot of bells and whistles that I'll never use and just confuse me. Will look into this and see....

I was able to get QB 2009 for an amazing price at the beginning of 2009 when there was a great rebate special. If you choose to go with QB, keep an eye out for coupons and sales - you can typically find it for a lot less than the retail price.

I'll reply in a bit once I've peeked at Workingpoint!

Personally use QB however some of my clients use Outright . You can integrate Freshbook and Paypal for invoicing options. The program is free and seems to work well for basic bookkeeping.

Finally ladies, what did you choose? And which features did make you like it? Like Angelica said, it's always interesting to know what solutions exist.
Have one of you registered to tiolive to test it? What did you think about this tool?

Francis,

In your post you mentioned a free software called tiolive, are you currently using it for your business and how's it working out for you? I'm just starting my business and every little bit helps.

@cbjjwds
Yes, I use it and I would be happy to help you if I can.
What would you need to know about tiolive?
For a first step, I can tell you that it works just with a registration on their website (well, to be honest, you will have to send them a confirmation of your ID to have your account delivered). Then, you can test all the modules.
It took me an afternoon to do their tutorials.

I was just checking out Mint.com. I have also been looking at Freshbooks.com
However I am already used to using Quickbooks so I might just stick with them??
