I wanted to take a moment to recognize the wonderful team of Virtual Assistants that are planning our 2 Year Anniversary Bash on April 28, 2009. The members are Darlene, Dawn, Janine, Jo-Carole, Kena, Lee, Lily, Serena, Tammi and me. Well, I can't forget Tess. I would like to add her as a honorary member.
She has been a great supporter of all our efforts in orchestrating this event.
All of these women have graciously given of their time and services to make this an enjoyable event for our VAF community. As active members we all understand and agree that nothing that comes close to it!
The goal of our the Anniversary Bash is to celebrate the success of VAF and to show gratitude for all the dedication, hard work and time that Tess and Hamid consistently provide.
Please join us on April 28, 2009 for our live chat with Lee of My Office Assistant at 12 pm PST. Lee will share her knowledge and savvy business sense with us. We would also love your participation in our LIVE podcast at 3 pm PST with host Darlene, our resident podcast guru, and very special guest Tess! She will answer questions asked by VAF members LIVE on the podcast. You can post your questions here. There will be a live...

Posted in Blog About A Blog
I know blogging is not a new concept to most people. I admittedly have had a fear of the Blogosphere until recent weeks. I guess I had some type of blogophobia. I enjoy writing; however, I had two problems with the idea of a blog. 1) I questioned the idea of will others be interested in my opinion. Well, the answer to that is probably yes. Consider the millions that watch “reality” TV about regular folks. 2) The fear of commitment. I understand to have a successful blog you have to supply consistent and interesting content. Hmmm?
What exactly is a blog? Why do others blog? The word blog has only been around since the late 1990s. I decided to do some further investigation. According to Wikipedia a blog is a contraction of the “web log.” It is a “website usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.” People use their blogs for several reasons. I believe most people use their blogs for personal and business purposes. I have friends that make updates about their family, vacations or add recipes to their blogs. Generally, business blogs reflect your expertise in that area or highlight industry news and events.

Posted in Random Thoughts from a WAHM
I was recently approached with the task of disclosing 7 interesting things about me via another blog. Initially, I thought, I am not that interesting. Then I thought this was just silly. Please note that I also thought the same thing about Twitter but I really enjoy now. Anyway, I think this is a perfect opportunity for those that do not have blogs to start one here. Also for those that have not blogged in a while to get back into the Blogosphere.
Everyone has a story to tell. Here are 7 things that you may find interesting about me.
1) I lived in Florida for 10 years prior to my relocation to Indiana in July. However, I am originally from Racine, WI.
2) I served 4 years in the United States Air Force. Great stepping stone and I met lots of interesting people.
3) I really enjoy food. Currently my favorite restaurants are Chick-fil-A, Culvers and Bob Evans. All of which my family are frequent guests. I know...nothing fancy...we are a family on a budget.
4) I really enjoy potatoes. I am open to most potato options: mashed, whipped, scalloped, fried, chips, baked ...well, I am sure you get the point. Do I sound like Bubba from Forest Gump? Remember? He loved...
