Sometimes in order to get your name out there you have to volunteer your services. I have done and doing just that.
I have a great friend that is a wonderful motivational speaker and youth mentor. After some overdue catching up, he proceeded to tell me what he needed to get his business going. That was the door to tell him about my business.
He needed to get his name out to the public. So, we began discussing that he needed to have a website as his storefront to what he has to offer and what he is all about, along with social networking avenues.

I was contacted by a lady who has a furniture store. She has a good client base of doctors, lawyers, hospitals, etc. She wanted to build a business line catalog of all her office furniture that she offers with pricing.
I knew that I could do the task. However, I told her since she was local I would like to come to her store to see how she does business. She was excited that I was willing to come out to sit with her for a face to face consultation.
So, we arranged a time for Saturday, June 5, 2010. I met her at her store. Prior to meeting her at her store, I prepared a contract after our phone consultation and she had verbally stated that she would like to go with the hourly rate for starters. I prepared the contract...

For years I wanted to start my own business of a virtual assistant. However, I came up with all kinds of excuses for not doing so for so long. The excuses ranged from, “you work a full time job, you don’t have time to start a business” to “ you do not have the funds to do so”.
Well, about a year ago, I was sitting in church, yes church. I was listening to my pastor as he was teaching about our gifts that God has given us. God has given us all gifts and some of us are to use our gifts in ministry or a business. He also stated that a business is a ministry because you are helping others who are in need.
