Default What about independent contratctors / employees?
I hope I am posting this in the right place - if not please direct me as I need some seriouse advise / direction.

I will be looking to contract specialized virtual assistants and other specialists to provide more comprehensive services to clients. I am just wondering what systems are available ensure I keep my clients, instead of just giving them away to individuals that are "working for me" remotely?

Any info will be geatly appreciated ut:

One thing I would caution you against is hiring people to do work that you can't do yourself. There are a number of reasons this is a bad idea one being what if your subcontractor/employee flakes. What if they say they know what they're doing but aren't....you can't double check their work.

With IC's you'll want to have a confidentiality agreement. But, still that's only going to give you legal recourse if they steal your client...you'll still be out the client. Bottom line, you have to work with people you trust. I do some subcontract work for another VA business. There's always the chance that one of her clients would approach me to take over...ethically I would never do that and would let her know and she and I would deal with that. She also risks me approaching her clients...she trusts me and knows I wouldn't do that. It's really a matter of trust.
