Smile A Virtual Assistant's... Assistant
Has anyone ever got sooo bogged down(As a VA) you knew you needed to take on some help..

Good help is hard to come by.. Yes, I know.. But sometimes, we can take on too many clients, and then we are struggling to keep up with our own excellent standards..

I offer a piece of advice.. Use your spouse!! I know, it sounds cruel, but there are times when we need free, and I use the word nicely, labor..Being a VA is demanding, and there are times when we just need help.

I say this as I recruited my own hubby this weekend. I just had too much to get done. Isn't that an awesome thing!!??

I hope business never slows down. As I love my hubby dealy, he is probably the best employee I will ever have!!!

That's actually how we ended up expanding our business from just me working as a VA to a full-fledged web design and programming company. My husband is a whiz with code - it's been so much fun to grow this thing together as well as help our clients expand both their businesses and their online hubs!

I hope you did bill for the time, even so...that can be a tricky one, but if the work got done to your own high standards and the client will be happily rec'ving the finished product that time is billable.

I'm just curious if anyone else has an assistant of their own or a partner/spouse with whom they work?

Yes Besides you It's such a great way to develop a business *and* spend more time with the most important person in your life...I just wondered if anyone else is working in the same direction.

LOL. Well actually...Jackie and I both work with our husbands - mine is a custom programmer - so I don't have a true assistant - just a really amazing business partner/husband

My husband works for me sometimes It's nice because we can share info on the work and he can get an idea of what I deal with daily. Once we decide to have children, he's going to quit his job I think to stay home and take care of our babies and do some work with me. I can't wait for that!

My hubby is my IT guy! He makes sure that EVERYTHING is running from downloading Windows updates to being sure the necessary security is in place. I always bounce ideas off him and he is my go to person if I am in a state of flux. He has helped me out a few times and this wouldn't be possible without his support!

I am in the process of training my hubby on QuickBooks so that when I get overwhelmed he can "jump right in" and help!
