Default As a Sub, do you have a budget set aside for training?
We all realize nothing is free these days. So one of the first things as a VA or subcontractor that should be budgeted for is training, coaching or mentoring. Like I mentioned in one of the other posts, it doesnt' have to be how to become a virtual assistant. If there is a specific skill that you need a little help on that counts as training.

So how much have you set aside in your budget for training? Is it a one time expense or do you set some aside each month?

I think it is important to set aside money for training as part of your budget. I currently set aside $50 a month.

I too believe it is important to set aside some money for training. The virtual world is always changing and you never know what the next big thing will be. Like twitter, that charged onto the internet like a fire storm, even they didn't have a "How to guide" until recently.

Save a little and learn a lot

Some of these training activities can also be counted as marketing too

Just this last year I wet aside a certain amount for a user group. With the budget in mind I knew it would take a certain amount of time before I could join. What was really cool is I received a discount so joined earlier then I planned. The first month of being with the group there was a fundraiser which another member purchased some additional training for others. So on top of my original plan of joining the group I was able to get two more training programs that I was budgeting for the next year.

You never know whose out there that may bless you with more training than you imagined.
