Strategic Alliance with other VA's
Some of us will utilize the services of other VA's for thier expertise in there business structure to service thier clients. For me I would seek a business partnership with other VA's in services such as webdesign and accounting.

As I develop my Marketing Plan and financials, can someone help me on how this is acutually done and include to what financial capacity is provided to the other VA?

Thanks!

Giving rates is forbidden in this forum. But I can say that I just got a subcontracting job today from a VA to help with a project. The prime contractor will tell you what she will pay you. You can negotiate the rate or choose to accept it or not.

There are multi VA practices, but it means there is one lead VA and the other VAs are called associates. I read a good ebook by Michelle Jamieson about this system. The thing is that it involves a lot of work by the lead VA and she needs to have excellent management skills to manage the associates properly.

I'm not sure how many VAs work in a kind of partnership as you mean, though.

I've discussed the possibility with another VA of each of us being a back up to each other. That is, she could provide coverage if I was on vacation or sick or something and I would do the same for her.

That's another option to consider.

I formed a strategic alliance with a paralegal and we advertise to the same attorneys. We designed one flyer with our information and we put mailers together and help share the cost of supplies and postage. She gave me her old Maryland State Bar Association manual and she and I type up mailing labels to mail out the flyers. It has worked out very well and I've actually gotten work from it.
