Default This Might Be My Best Option---For Now
Due to my new position as an Inside Sales Rep, it's going to be a bit difficult for me to promote my VA business and express confidentiality to my target market, there is quite a catch 22 here. I'm thinking to build my rep in the industry, I might need to begin subcontracting for awhile until I can fully promote myself in my own niche.

Is there a best way to get my name out there so that it is obvious I am seeking subcontracting work?

Hi,

Subcontracting is a great way to get started. For starters, become active in the VA world, and by that I mean participate in the forums so people can get to know you! Keep an eye on the RFP or quick help me type projects as I have seen lots of VAs ask for assistance with overflow etc., myself included!

I would also recommend, starting "hanging around" the placed where your target market frequents. Offer advice and input without being salesy and people will start to look for you for help which could equal clients in the end!

That's a good idea. I've started to frequent the one forum I have found a bit more often, just offering advice as I can. I'm trying to do the same here as well, the experience is so vast here, I love all the opportunites and opinions you can gain...it's hard to post..LOL..because everyone offers such good advice already and I'm still a newbie with so little advice to offer, but I'm getting there.

I am slowly working my way through all the wonderful topics at this site. I did not realize there was a "subcontracting" thread. I am going to check that too!! ;-)

Thank you!!!

Robin

That's exactly what I did. It was a great way to build my business and even get some great testimonials for my website/and new clients. Best of luck to you.
