Today is the last day on our subcontractor topic of training/mentoring/coaching. An important part to getting good training is having available funds to receive services. Lets talk about how or where we can go to find differnt scholarship programs for training.

From researching the web I know some of the programs offer their own but has anyone come across sites specific for virtual assistants to obtain funding?

How many of you would be interested in learning more about funding?

I think it would be extremely valuable, especially for startup VAs, to have some financial assistance for various educational opportunities (software, marketing, etc.).

Just found out about some gov't funding for a certification program. I will have to see if this is something I can have my mentor discuss with our group in further detail. I'll keep you all posted.

My mentor volunteered to discuss this topic on May's Q&A call. I'm very interested in hearing more myself.

I did a quick search and found that Goldman Sachs & Warren Buffett have started an entity to invest in 10,000 businesses across America. It doesn't look like it would help the individual VA just starting out (it mentions a possible 4 employee minimum), but perhaps it's something for a multi-VA firm to consider applying for.
