Do you use an instant messaging? If so which program do you prefer?
As subcontractors it's important to keep in contact with the VA we're working with. Share with us if you use an IM tool and which one?(Yahoo, MSN, Skype etc.,) Is there a particular reason you like it?

I use Skype, MSN Messenger, Google Chat, Facebook IM and ICQ. I also have a chat service on my website. Although I don't use IM more than an hour a week I have people who consistently contact me via these interfaces.

Although I don't use them for professional purposes (I prefer emails, too) my favorite IM services are Gchat/Google Talk and Skype because their interfaces are simple, easy to use, and reliable. (Facebook Chat, on the other hand, is notorious within my circle for its unpredictability.)
There are also some programs out there that allow you to IM on multiple platforms all from one place. Trillian and Meebo are two examples. I can't speak from experience about these but maybe someone else can; they certainly seem like they'd help keep things simple!
