How 'bout this - what if we form a group (Southeastern VAs?) here on VAF, exchange a bunch of info about who we are and what we need, and then decide on an in-person meeting? Charlottesville again? Roanoke? or north to a DC suburb? Mary, I was mistaken about you. Alamance Cty. is quite a lot farther than I realized. Five hours each way is a lot to ask.
