So excited to tell fellow VA's about a group event I had the pleasure of attending a few weeks back.
I was invited to attend a get together for Georgia VA's at LaMadeleine's french bakery here in Atlanta. Now, I am so leery of groups because they tend to be pretty disorganized and a den for aggressive soliciting. But, I was pleasantly surprised to find a very diverse crowd of ESTABLISHED VA's running successful businesses from all over Georgia....and we actually had some GUYS attend. Impressive!
The VA's in attendance mostly offering highly specialized services, with one member actually specializing in sales and cold-calling (REALLY? WHO ACTUALLY LOVES COLD-CALLING? - she did

)
Like VAF, I had a chance to talk to other people who had been successfully operating VA businesses for a couple of years or more (one since 1994 - Internet still in the womb) and share ideas, struggles, and give encouragement. The group is called The Georgia VA Connection, and I encourage anyone who enjoys the support the VAF forums affords and would like to also have local support as well to attend.
Here's a picture of us after our lunch.
