I am from Australia! I live in one of the suburbs in Sydney.
At the moment I am setting up my business and since I am new in the country (arrived 5 months ago) I have to do a lot of research. I love doing it, I am learning a lot and hope to open for business soon. How are you going?
Moved here from The Netherlands, with husband, 2 kids and 2 cats. Talking about projectmanagement It has been a busy, stressful but great period. We are no settling really well and the whole family loves being in Australia.
Yes I know the feeling, it does get easier though. About the three month mark I hit what I call the reality check - the realisation that we LIVED here and it wasn't just a holiday, makes you a bit wobbly but once you're over that and start making friends and settling in it's all good.
It is. And making contact with people is going a lot easier then I ever expected it to be. Having my son in kindy really helps. Were are you from?
I still have the feeling, we could have moved to the other side of The Netherlands. I would have to start over there as well. Realising I moved around the world, it is still a little scary, but yet like it has never been any other way.
Yes, having kids is a big help, we didn't have any when we arrived, still make some friends but have made so many more since the children were born and we started going to mother's groups, playgroup etc.
i have just signed on as a member of VAF. I am living on the Central Coast of NSW, moved here from Sydney just over 4 years ago and we are loving every minute of it. I am also in the process of setting up my business and there is no doubt about it, I'm going through a huge learning curve. Marketing myself is my biggest bug bear! I'm doing mail outs at the present, including email marketing. Despite some frustrations I am enjoying finding my way and hope to eventually be able to say I have dedicated and return clients.
