I am in Richmond. However, I see the places listed above are a little to far for me to drive. I am looking at maybe 1.5hr max in either direction for me to travel.

I'm in northern Anne Arundel County, very close to the Howard County border. Familiar with the Arundel Mills Mall? I could walk to it if I wanted to.

Hello Everyone. I am a newcomer and I have only one client right now. I live in Montgomery County, MD and I would love to network with other fellow Virtual Assistants in the area.
Has anyone been attending the Meetup group mentioned in the earlier posts?

Julie

Hi everyone,

I tried sending via my phone last night, but couldn't get it to work!

I'm in Chesterfield, VA and have tried unsuccessfully to do meetups for several years and due to the distance thing doesn't happen. Sad, but understandable. I would LOVE to have meetups if anyone is willing to figure out a neutral location!

I even tried to meetup with a fellow VA who is about 15/20 mins away and no response. Very disappointing.

Would chat sessions be just as good as a physical meetup? Any other suggestions?

Look forward to hearing opinions!

Leona Martin

Chats would be a great idea!!! I'm sure all of us could work something out and start some chat sessions.

Yes, please count me in. Maybe we could also alternate with some conference calls or Skyping (video conferencing). That way, it will be just like we're all in one room!

Hello,

I am a Virtual Assistant in Washington, DC, if I get some work that needs more people, I will contact you here.

What has helped me get clients is passing out flyers in libraries, post in laundromats, grocery stores, and passing out to people in business districts.

*The main way is to place a small ad in your local newspaper that is popular and free to the public.

Network with people on the social networking sites as well.

Viral Marketing-Word-of-Mouth is key, family, friends, and associates.

Hi Andrea, I'm in the Springfield, VA area and would really like to connect with other VA's in the area too. I have not offically "launched" my business, but I'd like the moral support of others in the business.
