That's sounds like a possiblity. I'm always willing to move around, it was always easier to hold the MeetUp close to my house, that way if no one showed up, I could get back home and back to work in a jiffy! Can we take a poll from people that have responded and find out the three locations (counties) that they are willing to meet in and then we can narrow it down from there?

I'm willing to travel to Baltimore county, Baltimore City, Harford County and possibly DC.

Anyone else?

Hi All

I'm in Bowie, and new to this forum. So let me introduce myself. I am Starlene Joyner Burns of Another Choice Virtual Assistant Service. My website is www.mydcva.com.

And I have been interested in meeting with other serious minded va's in the Washington DC Metro area. However, my past experience with meetup groups has taught me not to travel too far, especially when there is only a hand full of people who RSVP. The rule of thumb 1/2 of them will not show up.

Meanwhile, I have joined an online va meetup that's organized by Aretha and the next meeting (telephone conference) is April 1. She is out of New Jersey and very committed to the work of a va. The group is called the Virtual Assistant Networking Group.

There is also a Prince George's County VA group, but that group ran into the same problem, getting people to come out. And after a few unsuccessful attempts, the organizer has not been holding any meetings.

So let me know if you are really interested in getting together for lunch or dinner, bounce off some ideas, and begin building a community of trust and integrity.
