Default Yet another Agreement Question
Hi... I am in the process of setting myself up as a VA in the UK and I have hit a slight snag!

I am wanting to make sure that I am not "ripped" off, for want of a better description, and therefore have designed a simple agreement. My husband, acting as Devil's Advocate and seriously ticking me off :-), has pointed out that no-one is going to want to print off the document, sign it, scan it in and return it to me via email!

How do you get your clients to "sign" your agreement documents?

Sharen

The same way they will send any other documents to you for you to work on. They can either scan and email it, fax it, or send it by good ol' postal mail. They have to get stuff to you somehow.

Most people will either take the time to email it or fax it because they won't want to wait for you to get it in the mail to be able to start work.

I've never had a client who didn't do it.. Either email or snail mail. Sometimes they just fax back the signature page only.

Hi Sharen,
I don't really think you will have a problem in getting them to send it back via snail mail. At least I never had. What you can do is probably allow the client to fax or email you the agreement if you want to get started working soon but insist that the original gets to you by a given date.

Try Echosign.com. They send it as a pdf and then the client can "sign" it electronicially and you can also sign it electronically. Then copies are sent to both you and the client. They also have the option of printing and faxing to EchoSign's fax number which then sends it to both you electronically. It's a great and simple way to get the document "signed" in just minutes. Plus you can do up to 5 free per month.

I've had clients print it off, sign it and send it in the mail. I've had others print it off, sign it, scan it and email it. If they want your services, they'll take the time to send it. Don't worry about it Sharon.

Thanks for your replies everyone. It's really helpful to know that you all think pretty much the same. I had suggested that they print off the form sign it and return it via scanned email and then post the original, but my beloved, being the typical lazy boy, decided that no-one would want to print it off sign it and scan it back to me!

Hearing that you all do the same as I had at first though backs me up, so again thank you!

BTW this site is fabulous! I have had so many questions and wondered where I could find the answers, I stumbled on you accidentally but you are now top of my favourites list...

PDF documents can be filled out and returned via email, no printing involved. Quick and simple.
