Question Question on signing
I'm wondering how the actual signing of the contract goes. Email, regular mail? Just not sure of the best way to set it up.
Also, I can't wait until I have more answers than questions!!
Thanks

As most clients want you to get to work right away, email is fine, with the originally signed contract to follow in the mail for your files (in case you ever need to enforce it). If your policy is to require an initial deposit, be sure to have that in hand before you commence the work.

You can also use online services like Echosign. It makes sending and signing a service agreement super easy. I learned about it from someone here on the forums.

Otherwise, emailing it to them and having them fax or mail back the signed agreement works too.

Amy,

I use Echosign for all of my contracts. It makes the process so simple. You get 5 singing free per month. And when you get to the point that you need more it is only 14.95/month and it stores the last 500 documents.

I use email as well, and I use docusign instead of echosign, but that's mostly because my clients are realtors.

I use Echosign. And, like Darlene, I learned that from VAF; from a VA named Sue.

Just one more tidbit of information found on VAF!

Email or fax with a copy of the original signed contract mailed.

And, as overwhelming as it all seems at first - it won't be long before the 'setting up' phase will be over and done. A great way to make sure all of your 'ducks are in a row and quacking' is to use the master list (check the docs library for a copy).

Thanks Lily,
I do have the master to do list. It really helps keep things in order, plus I'm a list lover!!
