Default How do you sign contracts?
Not sure that this is the correct place, but was wondering how you applied a signature to your contracts.

Do you sign a hard copy then mail/fax?

Do you use an electronic handwritten signature?

Do you just type in your name as a signature?

I am asking this because I worked with contracts in my last position and signatures were a big deal. The contracts had to have original signatures. Faxes, etc, were not allowed. But in the world of technology, not to mention trying to stay green, there must be other ways.

Looking forward to your comments.

Hey Margie - it's me again!

Depending on the situation..who or what the contract is for, will probably be the basis on how you sign the contract. I use fax and email for all my contracts. But, I do know there is several resources for getting documents/contracts signed. Check them out here.

Hope this is somewhat helpful

I use Echosign for my non-local clients and good ole paper and pen (then scan and store the copy) for my local clients.

I've used Echosign several times and it seems to work well for those that are a little more technologically advanced. However, I think I'll probably move to sending a PDF contract via email, have them print and sign, then either fax back or scan and email back. They can also mail it back if they want. More people seem to understand better.

Why do we need to use Echosign or other similiar program. Would scanning your signature and then inserting it into the document be sufficient?

I have heard that many people use Echosign, but others just sign their name and scan it. What do you find is the easiest?
