Hi all!

My client just called and wants me to handle his 'auto responder' emailing. He's even faxed me the login and password. Do I have to get another contract signed or is there a way just to add to it?

How specific are your contracts? Personally I'm not planning on having specific tasks designated on my contract unless it is only for a specific project. However, if your contracts list the specific tasks you will be performing then you'll probably want to add it. I think you could probably just draw up a quick quote and send it over for his signature. That's what we did in my consulting company when someone wanted to increase project scope.

Just a 'per our discussion of may x, 2008 i will begin doing x. This task is expected to take approximately x hours which will be billed according to your signed contract dated x (attached). Work will begin upon acceptance of and signed receipt of this amendment."

At the time you may not have the time to do a new contract you need to send something in writing setting out the terms of the new task and requesting agreement with them in writing.

Do you think this can also work as an email to get it agreed asap?
