Default Confidentiality Agreements-
Hello VA community!

I have a question re: confidentiality agreements. If your service agreement has a confidentiality clause, do you feel the need to have a separate confidentiality (non disclosure) agreement?

Many thanks!

It depends on the type of work you are providing and who it is for... I usually add a separate confidentiality agreement for my bookkeeping clients and/or attorneys since I work with highly proprietary information.

I have a short clause in my contract and an more extensive separate one for those clients who need it. I use the separate one for bookkeeping clients and those with specialize proprietary business needs.

I worked for one company where we signed a general confidentiality agreement when we signed on, but then were required to sign specific ones for highly confidential projects. I always thought that was a good idea, because it reinforced the issue when there was a special need. So for those clients who have highly confidential information, you might want to have a separate form just for them, so they understand how highly you regard their confidentiality.

Thank you all for your feedback. I will keep a separate one on hand for those projects.

Thank you for posting that question. I am currently curious about the Confidentiality Agreements. Since my new client is a staffing agency, I am going to use a separate confidentiality/non-disclosure agreement especially since I just realized that my service agreement did not have the confidentiality clause in it and it has already been signed by both parties. I'm so glad my client brought that to my attention, however, I usually like to be more on my toes.
