Re: Client Contracts
Melanie and Lauren,
As for the book with the template, it would depend on where it came from. It is a reputable source who knows the VA or freelance industry?
As for the best way to go, do the terms cover what your business terms are. Most contracts are devised, in one way or another, from template form. Just be sure that the contract you use covers you as the business owner.
If it is a standard work or project contract I would say that you should not need a lawyer to look it over. However if it is specific to a client then I would. For example I have a client who is an artist and we used her contract as it was tailored to her unique processes and pieces. In that case I did have a lawyer review the contract to make sure I was covered as much as she was.
