Default Time tracking
I do a lot of freelance as well as my current VA project in addition I have 2 kids so I can not always sit trough projects start to finish. Is there a free download of a time tracker that I can start & stop with the push of a button while working on a project? It is headache driven when I have to get up & down for the kids and trying to accurately track & bill for my time that is directly related to projects I am working on.

You might like TimeStamp by Syntap. http://www.syntap.com - it's free. You save 1 project per client. What I like to do is save for each billing cycle, start a new one each time and save by clientname_date. Also, you can print the timestamp report for your records, and create a PDF of the report to submit to your clients with your invoice.

TimeStamp does not have tons of bells and whistles but if you want a basic timer that will allow you to create quick reports and time your work - this is the one I recommend.

I have used other timers through the years, but always go back to trusty ole' TimeStamp!

I just started using Paymo.biz and really like it. I was using myHours.com, but their website goes down a lot. I have never lost any info, but it is a pain when you need to work on something and it isn't working.

Paymo has a desktop widget you can download that syncs to their website and you can use it to start and stop time. MyHours wouldn't let you start and stop time. You have to re-set it everytime you stopped. Paymo also lets you send invoices direct from Paymo. I don't use this feature because I use QuickBooks, but it's a good option to have.

Paymo.biz is free up to 3 users and then they have paid options if you want to add add'l users.

Paymo sounds great, I will look into it. I am new to "widgets" but I love them!

I agree with Nancy. I use TimeStamp and find that it's very easy to use and understand. I always have a PDF TimeStamp report to send along with an invoice to my clients.

Here's a freebie time tracker that exports easily into a CSV or PDF file. It has a desktop widget. This is a very easy time tracker to use: www.toggl.com
