Question Call tracker
IHi I am looking for something that can track "time on each call" so the time trackers dont really have what I am looking for .(Or I dont Know how to use them this way.) I dont have much time in between calls but need a easy way to track them. Doing this with paper and pen would work but I am not fast enough to do this after each call when I am b2b calls. Any idea's? If I could work with excell better I am sure I could make something that would work but I just dont know it well enough to do this.
Thanks so much for any idea's.

Do you use Skype for the calls? If so, you can download a record of all calls at the end of the day/week/month. If you use something similar they probably provide a record as well.

I would suggest using Skype (costs me $3 a month for calls anywhere in the states and for a personal phone number, it's like $38 a year) and a great add-on called Pamela.

Pamela does everything AND the kitchen sink! hehe http://www.pamela.biz/en/

I created a 'time tracking worksheet' that you type in the beginning time and ending time and it calculates the total for you. You can find it in the document library and I've added the link here.

Can you access your phone information from the Internet? If so, you may be able to print a copy of all the calls and durations.

I have an Internet based phone through CityNet. I can access all my call information from my account, online. Same with my cell phone.

On my cell, I have a program called Momentum. It tracks calls and their duration. I have only used it a few weeks, so I don't have a great feel for it yet.

Robin,

I used Momemtum and was hugely disappointed with the program. After tracking a whole month's of calls with client IDs, subject, etc., the report they sent me only listed 3 calls. I fiddled with it to try to access the other calls, to no avail. I have uninstalled the app, if it takes me more time than I would recover in costs, its not worth it!

Maybe you'll have a better experience, let us know!

I use Google Voice. It provides a detailed breakdown of calls by number in or out as well as the time on the call. It's free for US calls and the fee is nominal for overseas calls. So far I love it!

I agree that Skype is a wonderful option for this with the timer running for each call... it's my preference, I've used it since I started my business and have never needed to try another VOIP option because it suits so many needs.

I use RingCentral for my business phone. With this service you have a call log of all incoming and outgoing calls. I often use this log when billing my clients. RingCentral also has a TON of other great features.

Good Luck,

I hope that that program helps you. I will need this myself.

It does sound worth while to keep track of your time. I am at approximately 5 responses. It will be a while before I can make use of this.

But something to look forward to.

I'm going to try Google Voice. I've been looking for a business phone service provider, I look forward to seeing what all it can do. Thanks for the tips!
