I just have a quick question - does this software contain DRM, then? I'm a little iffy on using anything with DRM just because I once installed software (a free trial of a game) with a DRM in it, but found out a week or too later that it also had a rootkit. For those that don't know, a rootkit is a program that some software/movies/games/etc. contain to make sure you don't share it illegally - however it also gives something for viruses and Trojans to cling to, since a rootkit can't be detected or deleted using standard virus protection software.

I think I've downloaded 3-4 programs, and have been fairly satisfied with them. I downloaded a sculpting program for my daughter, and she loves it. I haven't had any security issues and as far as support - you're getting it for free, what more do you expect for something you didn't pay for?

I also just started using this site and follow the rule of checking with the reviews - have been ok so far!

Here's one more tip about this site: add it to your RSS reader (i.e. Google Reader). When you check your RSS reader you can see right away what the new deals are available without having to remember to go directly to the site. I have found a few gems on here every so often so it's definitely worth keeping in mind.

BTW, for those of you that are in school, check out your institution's software purchasing program. For example, Adobe has full versions of their software for educational purposes. Since I am a student, I was able to qualify; however I checked my school's site as well. List price of Adobe Creative Suite 4 goes for about $1400, Adobe, I think had its educational version for around $400 or so. I got my version through my school for about $300!! I saved $1100!
