Default Vista Questions?
Now that I have fumbled with Vista for over a year, Microsoft has launched their own Vista Answers Community http://tinyurl.com/94c8uy

I recently purchased a new laptop with Vista. I was very hesitant due to all of the negative feedback I was hearing. However, after giving it a try, I must say I do like it.

I had to wait until certain software was Vista compatible to upgrade, but I've been working with Vista since January of this past year, and I don't mind it at all.

I too just bought a new laptop with Vista. It is different to get used to. I am also having some problems with some of my software including Quickbooks. I need to upgrade. Thanks for the link!

Thanks this is great! I have Vista on both my laptop and desktop and I thought it was a pain at first but it's not that bad after all. Like anything new you have to go through growing pains.

I've had Vista for about a year, and haven't had any problems other then getting to know the software.

Thanks for the link Dawn I'll keep it bookmarked

I think it is a getting used to the change thing for many people. I know I was hesitant at first to make the switch but I am so glad I did.

I have a laptop which came with Vista, my problem is that every time I try to type after a couple of letters the cursor has moved and I end up spending more time trying to locate the cursor then I do typing, which slows me down and is getting frustrating. Any suggestions or has anyone ever had that problem.

I also have a laptop with Vista installed. My problem is with the cursor. It all over the place. When I type a word or a few word, then look up and I may not have typed anything because my cursor has moved to some unknown place. Has anyone experienced this. HELP

That's not a Vista issue, that's a problem with the scroll pad. The problem is that when you're typing, the edges of your palms will hit the scroll pad, and if you hit it hard enough, it will act just like a mouse click, which means putting your cursor just about anywhere.

I always buy a mouse, and plug that into my laptop, and disable the scroll pad. If that's not an option, you can try to change the sensitivity of the scroll pad under the options.

I wish they had that website available when I purchased my laptop in 2007. Now I think most software is compatible with Vista. Once in awhile I still encounter a problem, but I think that maybe my anti virus software.

midknight. I had problems with quickbooks 2008 version. The problems are all gone with the 2009 version. It is now compatable with Visa.
