Default Vista Home Premium or Business?
I am purchasing a new laptop to use exclusively for my VA business, I have been receiving looks from my kids, because they haven't been able to get on pbskids.com

The laptop I currently have has Vista Home Premium as the operating system. Does anyone have Vista Business? What are your opinions? I went to OfficeMax and Office Depot and most of the laptops on the shelves had Vista Home Premium. I did not see any with the Vista Business operating system.

As always comments are appreciated.

Default Re: Vista Home Premium or Business?
Shante,

I recently bought a new laptop and chose Vista business because that is the purpose of the computer, being for my business. Vista business comes with some shadow copy and backup features as well as some other business features, but lacks some of the gaming/entertainment features the Home edition comes with.

If you're looking at buying a new computer for your business and the stores you are looking at only carry the Home editions, I would look at buying it at from a store that is more business-oriented. Personally, I wouldn't buy a new computer from an Office Depot, but rather buy it from a reputable computer store or one that has a solid reputation for backing their products. Here in Canada, we have Memory Express which has an excellent reputation for their service with computers and peripherals and even London Drugs, which has an excellent customer service policy. Think of in terms of what you will do when/if something goes wrong with the computer, is the store going to be able to help you out or do their policies even support ongoing support? Having bought one computer from BestBuy (don't do it!) and another from a company that reconditions computers which has since gone out of business, I can say that it is an important consideration.

Hope that helps!
