Default Ta-Da List
This is a great tool I recently discovered. Your client can create a free secure account and post lists of tasks for you to do. You check them off as they are completed. It's a great way for the client to communicate things they want done and for them to check status without having to contact you.

Check it out at:

Yes, isn't the 37Signals team great? They also have Basecamp, Backpack, Highrise and Campfire. All are great tools!

Thanks for posting this Michael. It looks like something that can come in handy for VAs but also something we might want to recommend to our clients to keep track of things to do as well.

And I like your idea of sharing the task list between VA and client of things that need to get done.

Thanks. It may be obvious, but I forgot to mention that the client will need to provide the username and password to the VA so they can view the tasks and check off items when they are completed.

What an interesting company they are. I was just searching the forum to see if anyone had addressed the idea of business succession (what happens to the work you are doing if you are somehow incapacitated, either temporarily or permanently), and this looks like a good way of keeping the clients informed of their work status, if not access to the work itself. Certainly a suite of tools I'm going to consider using.

Yes, I use Basecamp and Highrise to manage my projects and manage my contacts. I like their simplicity and focus on keeping things clean and without a lot of the extra you often don't need.

Thank you for the great resource and thank you for reviving older threads that have such wonderful information that I would have otherwise missed out on!
