Default Syncing client outlook calendar with my outlook calendar?
Hi everyone,

My client and I have used multiple calendar sharing programs over the last several years. We have used ShareO, Airset, Google/gSyncit and most recently Microsoft Live.

For some reason Microsoft Live is now not syncing with my Clients outlook. Changes made in Hotmail are not being forced down to her outlook calendar. She has uninstalled and re-installed several times, but it's still not syncing. The client is frustrated (as am I).

Long story short, my client wants to find something that will work as if we were in the same office sharing a network server.

We used gSyncit until it stopped working on the client machine and began duplicating and removing appointments at will. (hence the change to Live).

Anyone out there have preferences? What works best for you and your clients? I appreciate any and all of your suggestions.

Thanks,

Michelle

Microsoft now has a new program, which from what I understand will allow you to sync and share calendar and contacts. Microsoft Office 365 just came out of beta and there is a free trial so that you can test it out.

Not sure of all the bells and whistles since I changed to Google Apps for business I no longer use Outlook for contacts and calendar.

Thanks for your inputs - I appreciate the feedback.

Has anyone used the Microsoft Office 365? I took a look at it some last night, but am not sure if it is something worth checking into more from some of the statements on the forums.

Again, I appreciate all of your comments.

I would try google calendar again. It is the most widely accessible and easiest to use. It has acted up on me before but it's usually rare.

I want to offer calendaring services because I used to set up my ex boss's calendar. Obviously we worked in the same office and he merely gave me permission to access his calendar and I set up meetings, etc, for him.

I use Outlook 2010 at home. Excuse my seemingly ignorant question, but how do I access a client's calendar from my computer at home? Some of you have suggested google sync. How does ti work? Does their calender get added to my outlook or do I have to go to google apps and make changes from there?

Also, is there a way to somehow import my client's Outlook calendar to my own Outlook and edit the calendar from there? I think I would prefer to work out of Outlook just to simplify things, but I guess if I have to use google sync I will.

Still looking for responses to my questions.

Also, I still havent figured out how to use google calendar with outlook, so here are a few more questions. Does the client have to sign up with google apps and create a new business account? Or do you as a VA just create a new gmail account for the client which you then sync to outlook using google calendar sync? I tried conducting a test by allowing my friend to act as the VA and me act as the client and I tried giving her access to edit and post to my calendar but it won't let her. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or how to solve the problem.

Is there a way I can view a client's outlook calendar in the cloud, or would Office 365 be the only way?
