Default Remote Desktop Connection Help
Hello,

I have a client who needs me to be able to access her computer but I'm not sure how to set up a remote desktop connection for her in order for me to log in to her computer from my computer... I have a client in the UK that I access her computer through remote desktop connection through a site that she uses in the UK called Office Any Place. But I think she pays for that service and I don't think this new client wants to pay for a service. Can anyone help me with this?

Many Thanks!

LogMeIn. It's free and it's great. The client needs to load it on her computer and then give you the access information. The only problem with it is that she can't use her computer at the same time you're in there.

I use a program called NetOp that allows me to 'take control' of my client's computer. I generally just copy the files I need to my computer and then upload the new ones back to their computer.

Check out Co-Pilot by Fog Creek. They have a monthly subscription or $5 for a 24-hour period.

I've used LogMeIn quite a bit but found it annoying because there seems to be a delay or lag when accessing the remote PC. Has anyone else noticed this or am I being too picky?

I think the lag depends on the PC your trying to access as well as your internet speed. I normally don't have any problems with logmein. I have used lobmein and gotomypc and I much prefer logmein.

Co-pilot looks really good. I'm going to try that with my clients. I really like the day pass option - it makes it easy to pass the cost on to clients. Charge for your time plus $5.00
