I called a local Staples and asked them to put a copy on hold. They seemed willing to do so. I called 3 stores. One had 3 copies left, one had 9 copies, the other said they had 'plenty'...
I was going to go out early this morning -- but ended up doing client work first. I decided -- I will stop at Staples after the bank and hope for the best. The Staples I went to had plenty in stock! So, I got Quickbooks 2009 today as well Thank you to all the VAs who let us know about this deal (here and on Twitter).
Darn it! I missed it - I have had family here for the holidays and just got a few minutes to get online. I really needed to update my QB since I have a new laptop with Vista and so I really need to upgrade. I have been using my old laptop for time being when billing and it has become a pain.

Husband picked up my copy at the Staples yesterday afternoon. He said that there were 3 others with names on them to be picked up. Mailed out the rebate this morning, so hopefully that will arrive before the charge appears on my cc!
