I have a question in regards to using Power Point. Don't laugh (well, you can if you'd like! ) I have not had the need to use this program in the past, but have gone in and played around from time to time just out of curiousity. I now have a client who is going to forward me presentations here and there for editing. I have already done 2 for her (edits), but I got stuck and had to look up a few things. I want to know this program well and want to know of a good resource for a tutorial or somewhere I can go to learn and practice more.
Any ideas from those of you who are PP experts would be very much appreciated!

Have you looked for video tutorials on YouTube? I always find great information there. Just type in Powerpoint tutorials in the search box. I learn better when someone shows me how to do something as opposed to reading it in a book or manual. YouTube has helped me many times. You should check it out.

Hi Michelle, I've always found the Microsoft site is quite good with tutorials and how to's. You can find instructions for the version you have (for example I have 2003, so I don't want to know how to do things in 2007). Even just Google 'free tutorials PowerPoint' will probably bring up a heap. I was lucky enough in my old corporate life I convinced them to send me to advanced training but now I don't use it very often, except to play and send birthday presentations to friends! Good luck - it's fun to play in PowerPoint.
I have often used Microsoft discussion groups. The website is broken into each of the applications and questions logged and answered by the MVP's (Microsoft Valued Professionals). Often, just reading through the questions and answers will give me ideas or you can always post a specific question and await an answer from the MVP or other members.
I really enjoy using powerpoint and have found that being "thrown curve balls" by my employers/clients has often challenged my skill level. It's the best way to learn!
