Question Power Point conversion questions...
Does anyone know of a not-so-cumbersome way of taking an exsisting PP and converting it into a video-like format, or slide show of sorts that could be used to upload to a website for auto play, since not all guests attempting to view this information on a website necessarily have access to power point?

Try using Windows Movie Maker, that would probably work and I believe it is included with Windows Vista, maybe XP too.

I've looked at the Windows Movie Maker, and that application does lets you capture true video formats, and then cut and paste, or edit them as you need to, but it doesn't allow for a .ppt to be converted to a movie extension or format.

I tried running the PPT on auto pilot in preview, and then tried capturing it on screen using something like Jing. But, the Jing control defaults to the same corner as the PPT controllers, therefore losing control of start and stop functions so I'm unable to capture properly. I tried 6x yesterday before giving up out of frustration.

I was hoping that there was an easier way that I'm just not thinking of.

If you go into PowerPoint and click on Save As. Select JPEG as the file format. PowerPoint will ask if you want to save just the current slide or the whole presentation. Click on Whole Presentation. This will create a new folder with all your slides saved as JPEGs. Then in Windows Movie Maker you can import all the slide JPEGs in. You will lose any transitions, animations, or audio that you had in the original powerpoint, but you can add new transitions in between slides using Windows Movie Maker, plus you can add audio there as well. Then decide what movie format you want. It you choose Publish to this computer then it puts it in a format that you can upload to the web.

Actually another option is to save the PowerPoint presentation as a web page and then you can upload it to your webhosting company and link to it from your website.
