Default Opinions on Freshbooks? What about MyFax?
I saw another poster who had mentioned that they use Freshbooks. I want to use something simple for my records/invoicing and this one seems easy to use. I signed up for the free membership and it looks like they have a pretty inexpensive plan (I think $14 a month?) - it also has export capabilities in case things really take off and I need something more robust. So far I like how it looks and it seems very user friendly and simple.

Also, we do not have a landline right now and I'd rather not fork over $35+ a month if we can help it. Looks like MyFax has e-faxing services for $10 a month! The concept sounds very cool and right up my alley. Any users out there? Also, do any of you offer "faxing service", where you would allow a client to use your fax as their fax number? I was thinking it might be nice for realtors since they don't have much office time.

Thanks all!

I have used MyFax for about a year now for my own personal use (before I started my VA Practice) and it has been great. It' easy and simple enough to use for me.

For my invoicing and estimating tool, I use Cashboard and it has been a great way to keep records and notes for my client!

I'll second the good things on My Fax; I've been using it since I started.

I've used MyFax for a while without a problem. I pay for it annually, because it's cheaper that way. However, I recently read a blog about some issue with people faxing from HP or brother fax machines not going through on MyFax.

As far as Freshbook, and the $14/mo sounds nice, but when you figure it up that comes to $168.00/year, and you have to pay that every year to keep the service. Why wouldn't you just by Quickbooks Pro for a one-time fee of $169.00? It has a built-in timer or you could use myhours time-tracking for free too.

Hi

Have you tried looking into a service that can offer you both a landline and fax service. Try looking into ring central I also agree with Rebecka to try myhours

I have a traditional fax machine at home, but heard services offered through places like myfax will save on printer ink and are easier to deal with than traditional fax services.. kinda makes me wish I hadn't bought that printer, faxer, scanner combo I've got!

However, do you think there is an advantage to having both? Or not?

Thanks,

Shannon

I have both. A printer, scanner, fax combo and myfax. The scanner is a necessity. I don't send a lot of faxes, but do occasionally. I use myfax mostly to receive faxes, because I'm not completely virtual. I have several local clients that I work on-site for so I need to have access to everything no matter where I'm at.

I also have an inkjet printer I use as a backup, which is a good thing because I recently had issues with my all-in-one.

Wow! There are a lot of options out there! I'm just starting out and thought about using efax until I know how much faxing I will actually do. I haven't heard of some of these programs and will have to look into them further. Thanks for the info.

Hi, I do have an opinion on MyFax and I am guessing Rebecka is talking about my blog post... I used it for years and was happy with it. The last few months have had all sorts of issues. I am now using Trustfax.com and am happy with them. If you want to read about my MyFax drama check out my blog post about it here:

(Tess I hope it is okay that I posted a link to my blog post here...)
