You might want to look at

http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/

It is free to sign up and being Microsoft it should intergrate with Microsoft products. I have signed up for this but have not used it yet, so I can't comment on how easy it is to use, but I liked the interface.

Here is something that you might want to check into. If he is willing to supply the computer to have at your home. Implement a database and then have him LogMeIn or PCAnywhere access to this remote computer.

This way it will always be updated and ready for him to access.

Hope this helps.

With my previous company, I used Relenta http://www.relenta.com/. I liked the service and it's either cheap or free, depending on how much info you have. It's like a scaled down version of salesforce. They're constantly adding new functionality and take feedback well.

It might be what you're looking for.

Yeah, I really liked it. I did a lot of research on CRM systems and this one gave me the best bang for my buck. Just be aware that with the free version, they'll have a link to their website on the emails you send. But $15/month is pretty darn cheap. And if you need more than one person to work on it, just share a log-in if you don't want to pay the team price.

I'm going to look at MS Office Live for Small Business, looks like the only one I've seen so far that might be truely Free, although it doesn't have as many functions I think it has what I'll need.

Regarding online contact database mgmt needs... if anyone is still in the looking-loo, or planning stages of a system implementation to their business, you may want to check out this site: www.batchblue.com. It looks as though it has a lot of neat features with a free version available, and low cost ($10/mo) more complete versions. I'm just in the research stages myself without the immediate need. But, I like to have a list together just in case.

Can you tell me what program people use to build a CRM that you build on the backend of a clients website? Or does it depend on the capabilities of the website they are using?

Are there some you can build and "attach"?

Thank you for your feedback!!

Hi Leanna,

Per your quote below . . . what program works best for that? I have been using excel, but am searching for a better option!
"I usually would create my own little databases"

Thank you!
