Default Office 2003 or 2007?
Hello everyone!

What do you use more often - Office 2003 or 2007? Do you have a problem with your clients who use 2003 and you use 2007 to transfer documents back and forth or what not?

Curious to see what else other virtual assistants are using. Thanks and have a great day!

I'm using 2003 now but I've been looking at 2007 and I think I like what I see.

It will be interesting to hear what other VAs say on this topic.

I use 2007 with clients who use 2003 and no problems. Just remember to set the program's options to save to 2003 versions.

I have Office 2007, but my current client uses Office 2003. When I created a template for this client, I saved it as a Word 2003 document, and it worked fine.

Here is a link with instructions to set Word 2007 to always save to 2003. Most of my clients are still using Word 2003.

How would it work the other way around? What if they have 2007 and I am still using 2003? Would that create problems?

Do you find many clients are already upgraded to 2007??

If they don't save their files down to the 2003 version, you won't be able to open them.

I think two of my clients are using Office 2007.

Personally I think we should all be getting the 2007 version and learning it ASAP because eventually everyone will be on it and there is a learning curve. I've been using it since February 2007.

Hello all!

I've only seen one of my clients use Office 2007 and the remaining use 2003. I am on a bind of switching to Basic 2007 or Professional 2007 in the upcoming year.

Is there a difference between the two? Which version do you use - Basic or Professional? This could also apply for 2003 software packages.

Thanks again for the responses and keep 'em coming!!

I currently have both. I opted to go w/ 2007 when I got the new computer so I could start learning it. I like 2007 OK, it just takes time to learn where all the functions are. I'm much slower on 2007 just because I have used 2003 so long I know where all the functions I need are.

I like 2007 though, once you get used it it you'll be fine.

Jean, if you're going to buy it I would get the Pro version because it has PowerPoint and Publisher with it.
