Default New Favorite!
I just started using Microsoft OneNote and I think I am in love! It came with my 2010 Office, but I never really paid that much attention to it, because I didn't have time to learn something new, nor did I completely understand what it was used for. Little did I know that there really is nothing to learn and it has so much potential use in my life!

Just wondering if anyone else is using this program. If so, can you give me some more ideas of how you use it and what you use it for?

I use it for one of my clients. He uses YMail. He gets me to PDF his emails in one file and then he can print them out (for legal reasons). I open each email and send it to print but select one note instead. It them puts them into a file and I can share it with him.

Would love to know what else you can do with it though.

I love OneNote! I've created tabs for things like Marketing, Social Media, Writing Ideas, etc. and it helps me to easily jot down or copy/paste information or ideas when I'm working on something else and I don't lose my train of thought.

There is so much information here on the VAF that I created a tab for it and once a week I sort through it and just delete the information if I don't need it anymore or put the info. in the tab it belongs in for future reference.

I also created a Personal Notebook and use that for photos, vacation ideas, gift ideas, etc. All those little things that get written down on scraps of paper are so much easier to find when I put them in OneNote.

I would also love to hear what other people are using it for.

Attorneys/Paralegals utilize One Note for trials (preparation and in court).

Jennifer,

You are not alone. This is my favorite tool, and I never paid it much attention either. Now I use it to organize everything.

How do I use it? I have three notebooks and each with eight to thirteen tabs. I use it for personal and business matters and have added links, files, to-do lists, and tables to it.

I could go on and on. I love this program.

Thanks, everyone, for the great inspiration! I can't wait to dig into this even more to unleash all the potential!

Currently, I am using OneNote for planning a humanitarian trip to South Sudan for my church. I have a tab for travel itineraries and luggage information, visa and country regulations, and a few other things that won't have a lot on them until it gets closer. The Pastor is also using it to put in his funding information and other stuff about the people attending and what they need to bring with them to complete their project.

I am also using it for one of my clients who wants me to help her get more organized. I have different tabs for Bookkeeping, Inventory, and Marketing. I type questions when they come up, to do lists, ideas, and I can attach research information from a document or from the internet to be sure I cover everything with her when we meet.

It's so much better than having a bunch of notebooks or pieces of paper all over the place. Much easier to keep organized.

The times I used OneNote I love it, but then I made the move to have everything in the cloud (online) and made the move to Evernote - it's similar to OneNote but completely online and accessible on your phone and any computer all of which sync together.

I use to completely manage all of my client work and projects as well as my own recipes, crochet projects, inspirations and so much more.

I have office 2010 and OneNote comes with it but I've never used it or really knew what it was supposed to be used for but with such rave reviews, I think I may just start using it.

I'm the same way, Paulette. Never really paid attention to OneNote. I'll definitely check into it more.

I started using it lately and it is very comparable to Evernote, but I am leaning towards OneNote if only to continue honing my Microsoft Office 2010 skills.
