Default Need Software
Hello Everyone

I have a new client that owns and operates a beauty salon. She hired me to organize her clients profiles and schedules her client appointments. She can't answer her phone during business hours because she is just too busy. That's where I come in. I need a interchangeable software that can mirror my scheduling her appointments from my office and enabling her to see the changes or additions to her scheduling during the course of the day. Any suggestions:

Hi Phyllis,

Congratulations on your new client. One idea that came to mind is the online google calendar. Although I've not used it, I've heard others say it works well and others can view it too. I'm sure there's other stuff out there that people are using.

Cheers,

Do you have access to her computer network? Maybe you can just use outlook calendar through her computer. What is it she's using now?

At this time nothing. She is computer illiterate. There is a lot of work to be performed with this client, the first thing I have to do is update her computer. I know an IT person.

Use an online contact manager, it allows you to put stuff in the calendar, as well as the fact that both you and the salon person can use the user name and password to enter the site and do scheduling and you can both see it and use it. Windows Live allows this type of arrangement. You can do both her contact management and appointments here. I am currently using it with one of my clients.

What about a remote service like LogMeIn? I used it with a previous client and it worked great. He was completely computer illiterate and couldn't do much of anything on the computer himself. With LogMeIn (which is free) it must be installed on the client's computer first. So, you might need to walk her through installing it unless you can actually go there and do it yourself.

There must be an internet connection available. You log in from your home and it's like you're sitting in front of her computer. You have complete and total access. She can see everything you're doing (even moving the mouse!) The only problem is that if you are logged in to her computer, she can't use it.

Just a thought.

All of these suggestions are great. However, with LogMeIn...don't worry about her being able to access the computer. Simply advise that you will be installing/working on her computer for a set time period whenever you will and go from there.
