I have been visiting makeuseof.com for 2-3 years, now, and have found it to be a wonderful resource for web apps, software, and services. They only post info on apps/software/services that have either a free or low-cost version (in addition to varied-price packages). Their team of writers evaluates and writes a review of each site, often with helpful hints, screenshots, etc. I have found many tools, that I now use, through their site.

The evaluations and reviews are the best and that is how I choose what I am passing along. I especially love the daily "cool websites and tools" column. There's almost always something useful introduced or a website app that I'd not heard of.
