Default How to Organize a Schedule in OneNote + 3/6/9 time management strategy - from NerdBusiness
I've read in a few other threads that many members like to use OneNote from Microsoft for keeping their tasks organized and to-do lists under control. I found this brief article explaining how to use OneNote as a daily scheduler and includes some great tips for organizing a work day/week. [P.S. that secondary link there is a great read as well regarding time management]

From the article: Based on my Time Management Strategy posted last week - each day is divided into 3, 6, or 9 hour 'Focus Blocks' that are planned in advance. I generally project out about 9 days like this.
Each 'Focus Block' of the day is denoted with a checkbox that I can later check off after completion. It's a nice way to keep on top of things - and to later remind yourself about forward progress.

Re: How to Organize a Schedule in OneNote + 3/6/9 time management strategy - from NerdBusiness
I love One Note ! I plan on using it for my pre-consultation planning.

Here are the steps to follow (if anyone is interested):

1) Create a tab titled Consultations
2) Create a personalized page for each client
3) Type and organize your notes, talking points, and include a link to the client's website(s) (just like the example given in the article Tess mentioned)
4) Follow the list, touching on each talking point and add additional notes during the consultation

I found this to be a great way to take notes! I used it today for my mentoring session and it worked out really well. I was able to stay organized and focused and all I had to do was copy and paste my questions (from the email I sent to my mentor) and type the responses. The best part about it is, I did not have to sift through my notes to figure out what I wrote

Anyway, I am shutting it down for the evening . I had a great day and I am planning for a great tomorrow.

Toodles !

Great info Tess! I loved OneNote while using my Win laptop. Here are some great templates that I used when I was using One Note:

OneNote Notebooks
OneNote pages
OneNote sections

I use One-Note religiously. I have a "book" for each client where I store all pertinent information, notes, etc. I also have one for myself with sections for proposals, consultations and everything under the sun. With the easy integration of Outlook it has been a time saver for me.

Thanks Lee for telling us how you use OneNote. Now I have some ideas for myself on how to use it.

FYI - Office 2010 Pro includes a copy of OneNote. I am not sure about all the other versions but this is a big plus.

Thanks for these tips! I have OneNote, but have never used it. I will definitely make the effort now - it looks very useful.
