Yes, Google Docs is free. It's free to sign up - I currently have a Google email account that I use to login. It's also a great tool to use for working virtually with clients who need to make changes to one document or just to store your docs for ease of access versus a thumb drive (or if you forget the thumb drive). It works wonders! Good luck and I highly recommend it!
It's free, from all I've read so far. I discovered it accidentally and was able to help a classmate with a project we both thought was a lost cause for her. Worked out great! Good luck; hope it meets your needs.
Just confirming what others have said it is free. I use it with a client now to keep track of his sales leads. He sends me his new list of contacts and I put it into an excel spreadsheet that I then upload to google docs. He can open it and post updates to it, I can update it and his boss can review it to see his progress. Pretty slick. Have fun.
I use google docs to publish documents on the web for clients who perhaps don't want to put them on their main website or simply need it publishing NOW. Great tool.
I use Google docs all the time, but it has one some limitations. I do a lot of spreadsheets with formulas and hyperlinks - they don't show up in google docs.
